
Georgie, elected a leader of sorts, volunteers to go and see if she can find help….but what she finds is Vektal, a huge blue horned alien. The women are injured in the crash, they do not have adequate food or water to last very long and they actually don’t have a lot of interest in awaiting their abductors return. She finds herself on a ship with many other women and when the aliens have some issues, they end up kind of….crashing? the cargo part of their ship onto a remote ice planet and leaving them. Ice Planet Barbarians introduces us to Georgie, a 22yo American woman who is kidnapped by aliens. So when I was asked if I’d like to read the first book in the flagship series, I jumped at the chance. I hadn’t read this series but I had read a few books by the same author that had spun off from or were sort of adjacent to this series. They’ve become incredibly popular, I suspect with the rise of BookTok and other such methods of sharing reads. For this one, I chose the word ‘bonkers’ – but I mean it in a good way.īecause this book is bonkers!
